Dr. Andrew Nyx is a dedicated behavioral health professional with a decade of training and experience in a diverse range of settings including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, crisis residential care, inpatient detox, and dual-diagnosis outpatient programs. He earned his doctorate from the California School of Professional Psychology, specializing in Health Psychology. Andrew’s research explored the innovative use of heart rate variability (HRV) biofeedback to assist individuals in outpatient substance abuse treatment with managing cravings. He is also a certified SMART Recovery facilitator. Andrew is committed to a collaborative therapeutic approach, ensuring each individual’s strengths and preferences are central to a tailored, effective treatment plan. Outside of work, Andrew enjoys spending time outdoors with his dog, hiking local trails, and taking scenic drives along the coast.
