Tommy Hathorn

Chief Executive Officer

Tommy wants to guide those struggling with addiction toward the life he believes they were meant to live. He does this by creating first-rate treatment programs for individuals from all walks of life including those others may have deemed hopeless. The quality of the recovery program is paramount; Tommy will not settle for second best. The programs he creates always have the long-term success of the client as the first priority. He achieves the success of the program by continually raising the bar of excellence. With years of experience as a CEO, Tommy has broadened his scope of work to include involvement in program licensing, credentialing, fundraising and culture development.

Andrew Nyx

Clinical Director | PhD PSY34302

Andrew is a San Diego native with a decade of experience working in behavioral health. He graduated from the California School of Professional Psychology with his doctorate in Clinical Psychology, specializing in Health Psychology.

His doctoral research focused on using heart rate variability (HRV) Biofeedback to help alleviate cravings among patients attending a substance abuse outpatient program. He has experience working in psychiatric inpatient hospital settings, crisis residential care, dual-diagnosis outpatient programs, inpatient detox and addictive disorders treatment, and is a certified SMART Recovery facilitator.

Andrew seeks to build upon an individual’s strengths and preferences in treatment to design an approach that is personalized and with the highest likelihood of driving them toward success in their recovery. In his free time, Andrew enjoys spending time outdoors with his dog at dog beach, hiking, and taking scenic drives along the coast.

Danielle Caron

Director of Nursing | BA, RN

Danielle is a San Diego local and has a Bachelor of Arts in Communications as well as an Associate’s Degree in Nursing. She has been working as an RN since 2012 in a variety of medical fields including plasma, home care, and has most recently found her calling in substance use disorder treatment. Danielle is passionate about saving lives, helping others, and making a difference in the community. Her strong work ethic and exceptional interpersonal skills makes her a valuable team leader.

Brittany Kuzminskiy

Program Director | CADC II

Brittany is a Certified Addiction Treatment Counselor with over 7 years of experience working in various roles and settings in the treatment field. Her passion is to give back the gift of recovery and to help others learn to utilize their hardships as a means to finding a pathway to peace. Brittany empowers individuals by providing them with the knowledge, support, and guidance necessary for a positive treatment outcome. Her skill and experience help those struggling, find the courage and faith to embrace the treatment process and rediscover themselves as strong, capable, sober individuals. Brittany helps clients recognize the benefits of continued treatment necessary to build a solid foundation and new sober lifestyle.

Roth Heim

Director of Operations

Roth has been working in treatment since 2018. His own personal recovery and passion to help others has made him a leader and an example that many follow. Due to Roth’s personal trials and successes, he is able to easily relate to clients and help guide them through the early stages of recovery with an engaging and sincere approach. Roth’s dedication to his work and attention to each individual’s journey is paramount to their success in the treatment process.

Alison Litton

Director of Admissions and Compliance

Alison has worked in the recovery field for over 10 years in a variety of positions and has found her passion in treatment administration. Her extensive treatment experience has given her an in-depth insight into regulatory compliance, policies and procedures, and performance improvement. Alison is on the front line at San Diego Detox and is committed to making the intake experience as smooth as possible. She is a valued member of the San Diego Detox team and her commitment and dedication have been essential to our growth and success.

As the Business Development Representative at San Diego Detox, Billy brings a dynamic blend of compassion and strategic insight to our team. With a background in behavioral healthcare and a fervent dedication to aiding those in need, Billy plays a pivotal role in forging essential partnerships with referral sources, healthcare professionals, and community organizations. His empathetic approach, coupled with an intimate understanding of the challenges faced by individuals seeking recovery, ensures that our center remains a beacon of hope for those on the path to healing. During his free time Billy enjoys surfing, cycling and hanging out with his wife and cat, Jakey.

Jessica Preciado

Discharge Coordinator / AOD Counselor

Jessica received her RADT certification and completed the AOD program at Palomar College. She is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Being surrounded by family members that struggle with addiction has taught Jessica that getting through addiction is a difficult process. Jessica has a strong desire to help people with their recovery process and strives to create a supportive space for each individual. Her strong sense of empathy and willingness to help others that struggle with addiction encourages Jessica to continue investing in her client’s recovery.

Keith Dahlberg

Executive Chef

Keith struggled with his addiction for over 30 years and began his recovery journey in 2020. He retired from the medical field to pursue his passion for the culinary arts. As the Executive Chef, Keith uses the nutritional knowledge he gained as an RN to prepare a well-balanced and nutritious menu with the client’s individual needs in mind. He strongly believes in holistic healing and is mindful of the part nutrition plays in the spectrum of physical, emotional, and mental healing.
