Tommy wants to guide those struggling with addiction toward the life he believes they were meant to live. He does this by creating first-rate treatment programs for individuals from all walks of life including those others may have deemed hopeless. The quality of the recovery program is paramount; Tommy will not settle for second best. The programs he creates always have the long-term success of the client as the first priority. He achieves the success of the program by continually raising the bar of excellence. With years of experience as a CEO, Tommy has broadened his scope of work to include involvement in program licensing, credentialing, fundraising and culture development.

Michele Hodelin

Clinical Director | LCSW

Michele has been a licensed social worker for 31 years and has worked in Administrative Management for the last 20 years. She has been the Clinical Director in a free standing psychiatric hospital, an Intensive Outpatient facility for the dually diagnosed, a chemical dependency residential care treatment facility, and the Alcohol and Substance Abuse Treatment Program in the New York State Department of Corrections. Michele was born and raised in New York, moved to St. Petersburg, Florida where she resided with her family for 15 years, and made the move to sunny California in 2018 traveling across the country with her husband, their son, her two cats, and her dog. Michele graduated with honors from Dominican University with her bachelors degree in Social Work where her research project was replicated in Rockland County, New York that addressed the impact of alcoholism on child abuse and neglect after interning at Rockland County Child Protective Services. She graduated with Honors from Fordham University Advanced Standing Masters Degree Program where she earned her masters degree in clinical social work. Michele’s passion has always been working with the chemically dependent population and her favorite thing is to provide lectures on the Disease Concept of Chemical Dependency and Step One. She has strong faith in her Higher Power and a deep seated spirituality. Her care, compassion, and dedication to the population she serves coupled with her sense of humor and her ability to “break it down” in a way the clients can relate allows her to make connections easily. While she strives to provide the clients with the best possible footing to go out and “slay their monster” into remission, she understands that relapse happens and she welcomes them back with open arms in a nonjudgmental manner. Michele believes in the resiliency of the human spirit, the love of the recovery community, and the blessings of sobriety.

Jessi has worked in behavioral health for over four years. She began her journey in Business Development and Admissions, then moved to Operations where she found her passion in the industry. Jessi works directly with our Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) to develop a positive culture at San Diego Detox. She also works closely with our clients on the milieu floor daily to help them build a solid foundation for their recovery. She is passionate about developing strong teams to support our clients.

Danielle is a San Diego local and has a Bachelor of Arts in Communications as well as an Associate’s Degree in Nursing. She has been working as an RN since 2012 in a variety of medical fields including plasma, home care, and has most recently found her calling in substance use disorder treatment. Danielle is passionate about saving lives, helping others, and making a difference in the community. Her strong work ethic and exceptional interpersonal skills makes her a valuable team leader.

Alison has worked in the recovery field for over 10 years in a variety of positions and has found her passion in treatment administration. Alison is on the front line at San Diego Detox and is committed to making the intake experience as smooth as possible. She is a valued member of the San Diego Detox team and her commitment and dedication have been essential to our growth and success.

Brittany is a Certified Addiction Treatment Counselor with over 7 years of experience working in various roles and settings in the treatment field. Her passion is to give back the gift of recovery and to help others learn to utilize their hardships as a means to finding a pathway to peace. Brittany empowers individuals by providing them with the knowledge, support, and guidance necessary for a positive treatment outcome. Her skill and experience help those struggling, find the courage and faith to embrace the treatment process and rediscover themselves as strong, capable, sober individuals. Brittany helps clients recognize the benefits of continued treatment necessary to build a solid foundation and new sober lifestyle.

Jessica received her RADT certification and completed the AOD program at Palomar College. She is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Being surrounded by family members that struggle with addiction has taught Jessica that getting through addiction is a difficult process. Jessica has a strong desire to help people with their recovery process and strives to create a supportive space for each individual. Her strong sense of empathy and willingness to help others that struggle with addiction encourages Jessica to continue investing in her client’s recovery.

Keith struggled with his addiction for over 30 years and began his recovery journey in 2020. He retired from the medical field to pursue his passion for the culinary arts. As the Executive Chef, Keith uses the nutritional knowledge he gained as an RN to prepare a well-balanced and nutritious menu with the client’s individual needs in mind. He strongly believes in holistic healing and is mindful of the part nutrition plays in the spectrum of physical, emotional, and mental healing.
